Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses a targeted pulsed magnetic field, similar to what is used in an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine. While the patient is awake and alert, BrainsWay TMS Therapy stimulates areas of the brain that are underactive in depression.
Non invasive and non systemic. The only side effect is the possible minor irritation of the scalp.
A typical treatment course consists of 5 treatments per week over a
4-6 week period.
Each treatment typically lasts between 19-37 minutes. The variation depends on your diagnosis.
You will be fully awake and alert. You can read or use your IPad/tablet and return to your normal daily activities after treatment with no restrictions.
Esketamine, or Spravato®, is derived from ketamine and makes powerful antidepressant relief available to be delivered intra-nasally, similar to a common nasal decongestant. PsyCare offers esketamine therapy, and this novel therapy for treatment-resistant depression can be combined with other treatment modalities, such as antidepressants, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), or other therapies.
